Five years ago we started our studio in Rotterdam, to give Dutch circus artists a home. It is still the only place of its kind, a space where circus makers in the broadest sense of the word can go every day to train in professional facilities.

A training place is a basic condition for a thriving circus field, and it shows. Where five years ago 80% of circus HBO graduates went abroad, that has now been reversed, the majority remains in the Netherlands. At the same time, the studio is also rooted in the neighborhood and in the city. Circus Rotjeknor gives lessons for local children, and we organize lessons and masterclasses for the adult circus community.
