FAQ

Visit the studio

We are located in the De Kroon building. Our entrance 'K23' is behind the building, in the courtyard. You can find the address and more information on our website under "contact".

You can reserve your spot in advance (although not on the same day as the training) via the app or website. Once you are in the studio, you can find your name on the tablet and click “check in” next to your name. If you forget to reserve a spot in advance, you can still enter the studio during opening hours and reserve your spot on the tablet and check in. This is possible as long as you have a valid day pass or a subscription.

Yes, correct registration is important for the management of the studio.

The studio is wheelchair accessible and the building has accessible toilets. The accessibility of the courses varies, but we are constantly working to improve and adapt to individual needs. More details can be found on the accessibility page. If you have specific questions, needs or feedback, please contact us at circusstudio@talltales.nl

Autonomous - and Open Training

During the Open Training (evenings and weekends, 2 to 4 hours) there are always two volunteers present to help with rigging and to answer any questions. The Autonomous Training (during the day between 09.00:17 and 00:XNUMX) is intended for professionals and experienced recreationalists who have followed our explanation about rigging and safety, so that they can rig and train independently.

Once you are a member of the studio, you can book a day pass, a 10-session strip card or an annual subscription via your profile on the website or in the app.

After purchasing your access pass or subscription, you can reserve your spot for the training. When you arrive at the studio, you can easily check in via the tablet at the counter.

Yes. We have aerial hoops, straps, tissues, aerial rope and an aerial hammock that you can use while training in the studio, as well as many types of crash mats and a lunge for partner acrobatics. We also have elastics, dumbbells etc. that you can use. You can find the equipment both in our storage and in the studio. All equipment from Tall Tales Studio is marked with blue tape.

For all rigging related activities, we ask every studio user to complete our 30 minute rigging and safety briefing. If you want to rig a rope, Chinese pole or other equipment, please consult with our rigger in advance. If you have any questions about rigging, please feel free to contact us at circusstudio@talltales.nl.

The validity period depends on the pass purchased. The following passes are valid for one month after purchase: Trial lesson pass, single access to Open Training, and single access to Autonomous Training. The following passes are valid for one year after purchase: Autonomous Training strip card (10 sessions), and the Open Training strip card (10 sessions).

We are also open during the holidays, but are closed on some holidays, such as Christmas. Check our calendar to stay up to date on opening hours.

Course subscriptions

Your subscription to one of our courses runs from September 1st to June 30th, with only a break during the Christmas holidays.

We offer a recurring, month-to-month subscription. Your subscription will renew each month on the same day as your billing date. If you sign up on the 14th, your subscription will renew and be billed on the 14th of each subsequent month.

If you provide your bank or credit card details, payments will be processed automatically.

The courses run from September 1st to June 30th. You can join at any time. You choose a specific course, such as Aerial Hoop, Tissue or Partner Acrobatics; from that moment on you pay monthly and can follow one lesson per week. If you no longer wish to follow a course, your subscription will end at the end of the current month. Please note that the monthly billing cycle begins on the date of your subscription. For example, if you subscribe on the 14th, you will have to pay on the 14th of each subsequent month. If you cancel, your subscription will end on the 14th of the following month.

If you like the trial lesson, you can proceed to purchase a monthly subscription for weekly lessons. When purchasing the subscription, you can set the start date to the date of the next lesson.

Yes, you can; sign up as a new member or log in as an existing member and choose your subscription. Please note that membership lasts for at least one month, so if you are not sure whether you will like a class, we recommend taking a trial class. In addition, many teachers start creating a new choreography at the beginning of each month. To get the most out of this, it is recommended to start around that time. If you are considering joining later in the month, we recommend that you only do so after consulting with the teacher if it is possible.

You can cancel your membership by sending an email to before the next billing date circusstudio@talltales.nl.

Because our courses are designed to gradually teach you specific skills and techniques, we do not offer drop-in options for lessons.

If you are considering changing discipline or training day, we recommend that you participate in a trial lesson for the new discipline you are interested in. This will help you determine whether it suits your preferences. Once you have decided, inform your teacher and/or send us an email. We will then make the necessary adjustments for you and ensure that your membership remains valid.

In addition to our regular courses, we offer a specialized physical preparation course focused on improving strength and flexibility, specifically designed for aerial acrobats. You are also welcome to attend the Open Training. During these sessions, you can work with fellow members and receive help from volunteers with rigging experience. This allows you to work on your skills at your own pace and receive valuable guidance to help you improve.

Absolutely! We offer additional classes in physical preparation and flexibility that can complement your chosen discipline. In addition, the Aerial straps class is a fun way to increase your strength. Additionally, you can consider choosing a related discipline, such as a combination of aerial hoop and tissue, these classes reinforce each other.

There are three main factors that contribute to our pricing structure:

  1. Longer class duration: Most of our classes are 90 minutes long. We believe this duration provides the optimal learning curve. We integrate a warm up and cool down into the class to prevent injuries and ensure proper preparation for the class content. Most other studios offer 60 minute programs.

  1. Advanced Studio: Our studio is equipped with state-of-the-art rigging, underfloor heating and has a height of 6 meters. This is considerably higher than most other studios, allowing for a wider range of movements and exercises.

  1. Highly skilled instructors: All our instructors are skilled professionals with extensive training and years of practical circus and stage experience. Almost all of them have a bachelor's degree in circus, with a 4-year full-time education at universities such as Codarts Circus Arts or Fontys. Their expertise accelerates your learning and development. We are confident that the quality and value of our offering are in line with the price, so that you get the best possible training and learning experience.

Trial lessons

Of course! We regularly organize trial lessons for those who want to explore and experience our courses before committing to a membership. You can take the trial lesson once per course.

We recommend starting with the beginner trial lesson. This way, your teacher can assess your current level and recommend the lesson that best suits your learning needs. In some cases, it may be advisable to start with the beginner lesson, even if you are considering the advanced lesson. In the end, it is not just about your level, but about a pleasant learning journey and an enjoyable experience.

You can use the Tall Tales Studio App or consult our calendar on the website. There you can choose the right trial lesson you want to follow, book it and buy the trial pass for it. Please note that you must first register as a member if you are not yet a member of Tall Tales Studio.

We offer trial lessons regularly, but not every week. You can only use your trial lesson credit in the specific trial lessons that you can find in our calendar.

Payment methods

You can use iDeal when purchasing day passes and strip cards for autonomous and open training, but not when purchasing a subscription that requires automatic recurring payments.

Yes, we also support SEPA payments.

For one-time payments we accept credit cards, SEPA, iDeal and Sofort. For recurring payments we accept credit cards and SEPA.

Rental

We offer the possibility to rent the studio outside our opening hours and other activities. For further questions about the rental you can contact us via e-mail.
