A Clockwork Orange

A timeless acrobatic spectacle about the beauty, limits and appeal of violence.

Tall Tales Company takes you on a fascinating journey full of circus, violence and classical music. The performance A Clockwork Orange is a circus adaptation inspired by the cult novel/classic by Anthony Burgess, that was taken to the big screen by Stanley Kubrick in 1971. Exactly fifty years after the release of the film, six circus performers will bring this story to life. Experience the irrational boundlessness of gang leader Alex and his companions with acrobatic highlights in the theater.

We live in a world where more and more measures are taken to increase the sense of security for citizens, but.. is this (not) at the expense of our rights as individuals? Are we trapped in regulations and a system that defines us? With A Clockwork Orange you can step into a world where you, for a little while, don’t have to follow the rules. Get to know the extremes of the human body and the forces that are released in this one-of-a-kind circus performance!

This performance is appropriate for 15 years and older. Please notice, this performance contains (sexual) violent content which may be too intense for some viewers. Viewer discretion is advised.

“Brilliantly played […] The daring performance is hard and at the same time graceful, grim and shocking, violent and it has beauty thanks to the music. Acrobatics is used as a representation of violence – which is a brilliant idea […] the ultimate circus act. But then completely different.” Theaterkrant
